Travel hack with a toddler

We have to agree that traveling with a toddler can get hectic ,chaotic and very tiring but it doesn’t have to be like that.

I have been traveling with Sheyce ever since she was a baby and over the years it gets easier but ever since she became a toddler ,it was hard to keep her in her car-seat for more than 2 hours. She is now 3 years and can sit for 3 hours without complaining but she was getting quite bored and would want to color or draw during our road trips which i was convinced was impossible until i came across this car seat accessory (car seat table) which has now become such a life saver.

She has had it for 3 weeks and she can now color and draw as much as she wants and there is no more boredom for her on the long hour drives ,the table has side pockets too where she can put her snacks and water and be able to reach them without my help.

This car-seat accessory has got to be one of the best inventions for parents who love to explore with their toddlers. It keeps the toddlers glued in their seats engaging in fun drawing and coloring activities making it easier for you to drive without nagging.

The car-seat accessories come in various designs which vary in prices. If you buy it from my seller ,you have to pre-order with a deposit then complete your payment on delivery after two weeks. Her name is Judy and you can reach her through her Facebook page .

The sipping bottles (Sound of Safari ) are from Roopam Limited on Biashara street ,they are really good and do not spill.

I will be sharing more of my travel hacks with a toddler and what to pack when traveling with a toddler soon. So look out for that.

Thank you for stopping by.

Safari Walk

When everyone else is always itching to get out of the city as soon as the Weekend gets here ,am one of those rare ones who drive into Nairobi to discover its hidden treasures, or maybe this has to do with the fact that i do not not actually live in Nairobi and it is an hours drive away but heck Nairobi is a beautiful city with some amazing destinations that await us to explore and experience.

The other day we partnered with Kenya Wildlife Service to experience the magic and beauty in one of their parks and from the pictures you can tell Sheyce had a lot to learn and see.

Safari walk is only 20 minutes drive away from Nairobi’s CBD and it is one of the parks that make Nairobi one of the most unique Cities in the World. At Safari walk you do nature trails as you enjoy the beautiful wildlife (lions, zebras, ostriches,Buffaloes, antelopes,Leopards, crocodiles ,Rhinos ,Monkeys ,Birds ,a special hippo breed and Monkeys) ,fresh air ,Nature and a really good breeze.

There is so much to learn about our wildlife at the park and the tour guides are willing to share all the knowledge they have as well as answer all your questions and learn from you too. After learning the importance of our wildlife from your tour ,you will want to be apart of the #youngvoicesforwildlife movement which is such a noble course.

The Kenya Safari Walk Park is a perfect plan for any day of the week or even the weekends and be sure to love the experience.

Once you get to visit any of their parks which are spread out in the country ,capture your moments and share them on their social media platforms ( Twitter,Instagram and Facebook ) with the hashtag #DiscoverKWSParks.

K1 Flea Market

I bet most of you do not know of the K1 Flea Market Sundays yet ,yes?Well, neither did i until some time last week when i came across one of my Friends’ Insta-stories and i just couldn’t wait for Sunday to get here so that i could drive there and experience some K1 Flea market vibe.

We got there at around 10am in the morning when they had just finished setting up and there was already no free parking space( be sure to find Kenyans turned up as early as that even on a Sunday morning in any cool place in town) but we were so impressed by the beautiful set up.

That was the 8th edition of the Flea market which was created by Kaz Lucas and it happens every Sunday. They have amazing brunch which is affordably priced ,and there are this Fashion stands with some amazing unique pieces of fashion statements from shoes, jewellery, fabrics, clothes and make up which are crazy affordable. Its a Flea market ,so be sure to find some good and unique stuff and be sure to mingle too.

this little bakery right at the entrance by patricia has some of the most delicious cakes and cookies ever..

So there you go guys ,i just gave you a new Sunday plot after Church which am sure you will get to love and enjoy.

Its mothers day weekend and i do not have anything special planned but that doesn’t mean i do not celebrate my beautifully amazing mother and all the other mothers i know. I appreciate mothers,i have not experienced a love as great as that one of a mother in both receiving and giving ends.

Mothers are blessed with so much wrapped up in one ,not even words could describe who a mother is. So lets appreciate and celebrate our beautiful mothers ,mother figures, aunts or simply anyone who has played the role of a mother in your life. They are special and a blessing in our lives and they should be made to feel so because they deserve it.

Thank you for stopping by ..:)

Enjoy the weekend friends …

Hallo guys ,we have missed sharing our Safari diaries with you but we hope to start doing so as soon as possible. In the meantime we will share amazing 30 days of Mommy Daughter magic.

The campaign will run for 30 days showcasing some beautiful pieces worn by my daughter Sheyce and I ; complementing each other and sometimes completely twinning. Aside from the fashion aspect of the campaign ,it will also show some of Kenya’s easily accessible  yet amazingly beautiful destinations.

We purpose to inspire women ,especially young moms to bond with their daughters through Fashion and Adventures.

This is our first piece of 30 Days of Mommy Daughter Magic which we shot at the amazingly beautiful Uhuru Park which is right in the heart of Nairobi . It was a chilly Saturday Morning but we loved being there and enjoyed the very affordable activities Uhuru Park had to Offer.

Boat ride was Ksh 300 only and it was too awesome.

Lets play cute and sassy

Of a random mini fun shoot in a cute little custom made sassy skirt and as usual ,some flowers. I love wild interesting flowers but am still very typical when it comes to roses.

As cliche as it is; work without play makes Jack a dull boy ,is a true phrase. And when a toddler is your model ,then you have to incorporate play in between shoots and just let her be in her truest self.

This is Sheyce being playfully cute but very conscious of the lens capturing her.She mesmerizes me with her artsy character and free spirit, its always a good day when entirely spent with her.

Today ,lets keep it that brief ..:) Happy New Month !!!

Sheyce joined school early this month and she seems to love and enjoy it more each day. Her becoming a school girl is one of the reasons we have been MIA for a minute but now that we have sort of gotten the hang of it and known how to organize ourselves better,i can confidently promise to have blog posts up every week.

At first i was scared of letting her go,she still seemed too young to be in school,i wondered how she would survive a day without whining “mommy this, mommy that, mommy come, mommy food ” ,i was scared of what her witty curiosity would get her into without my keen eyes on her 24/7 but either way i knew i had to let her blossom on her own.

The level of maturity that has taken place in the last three weeks is impeccable, sometimes i just stare at her and wonder who she is because the last time i checked my daughter wouldn’t sit still or let me be without her always trying to push all my buttons.

She now listens keenly, communicates better, acts independent ,Thinks before she acts and understands a lot more. Its beautiful to watch her blossom into this amazing little person and i can only imagine how she will be by the end of the year.

I learned that sometimes to blossom into this beautiful flower you ought to be ,you have to own your space and be let to grow. To have someone have your back when you fall is okay but you have to grow, mature  and develop in your own space.

Have a productive week ahead and may you Blossom into a beautiful flower 🙂

Rise and Shine

It has been roughly a month since we last had a blog post up,the year 2017 seems to have caught us a little off guard and now is when it feels like we are just settling down ;non the less we are grateful to be where we are today.

These amazingly beautiful pictures of the coastal sunrise have been sitting in my laptop for over two months now,i did not know where or how to share them until now.

We all have days when we feel so demotivated and like the universe is conspiring against us, it is okay to have such days,it is okay to feel like you want to give up,it is okay to pause and meditate before embarking on the journey. We are all human and life is still life.It is not fair sometimes and sometimes it feels like it favors others and leaves others out in the cold.It is just life.

But here is the thing about life;it is beautiful,it is full of experiences ;both good and bad,it is  a gift ,it is what we make out of it. It is said,to push through life you have to be resilient ,you have to have the will to do so,you have to be positive and a free spirit.

Over the months i have learned how to not entertain negativity ,how to always be positive even when things are going south, how important it is to mold my character, perceptions and thoughts through the people i choose to keep close, the books i read, the conversations i engage in and the content i watch. And most importantly how the impossible is possible and how we shouldn’t limit ourselves yet we know we have all the potential to do it big. Believe in the beauty of your dreams, yes it is a cliche saying but trust me,just believe in them and never let an opportunity go just like that,it might be the only one you will get,so jump on it and make the best out of it.

Every morning you get to see another day ,choose to be a better person, choose to be Kind, choose to transfer positive energy to those around you, choose to smile ,choose to show gratitude, choose to be courteous and choose to Rise above all odds to shine and shine really bright.

May your week be productive..

Love for the Beach Life

This is the second last post on our trip to Mombasa . I promise .:) I was to speed it up a little bit but ,hey ,life keeps happening and throwing me off balance and am here trying to make that lemonade.

On this day we took a boat ride from Mtwapa to Pride Inn Beach Resort and it was such a beautiful experience and very scenic . Why does the coast have be so beautiful though? Sheyce was a little bit more terrified because one could feel the tide more compared to the boat ride we did in Watamu but either way she had a smirk on her face which was close to a smile. Lol.

Apart from the Ocean exciting her ,this time she just wanted to ride on a Camel and she just cant stop talking about her awesome experience on such a tall creature. She is sometimes scared of heights but if asked ,she could ride on a camel all day ,everyday.

Our daughter is a huge fan of superman that she even calls herself a super girl. She loves any cartoons that have a lot of heroic and rescue patrols in them. The other day she told me she wants to be a police so she could drive in a fast car and save the day. I do not have anything against the police but i would smile wider if she said she wanted to be an Engineer maybe.

But what i admire most from her ,is how she for instance picks a character from her favorite cartoons and believes she can be as good as them and does everything possible in her small world to become like her favorite character. That’s one thing to borrow, all you need to do sometimes is just believe . Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, believe in your potential ,believe in your path,Believe in a higher force to help you get where you want to be in Life. Believing is seeing !

Sun,Sand,Swim & Shores

Why we all love the coastal region is because of its ever sunny days ,the ticklish feeling on your feet from the sand ,the relaxing feeling one gets after a swim in the Indian Ocean and the amazingly beautiful shores where one gets to create memories of a lifetime.

Kenya boasts of having some of the most beautiful beaches in the World which are big, scenic and said to have a great marine wildlife.

Sheyce’s best part was playing with the sand without me screaming at her to stop touching ‘dirt’ ,i happen to be one of those parents who never let their kid play with dirt or stones ,i just cant refrain from imagining how much dirt there is in the dirt (does that even make sense?). She made castles, threw the sand at her baba and got herself all covered with the sand.

Capturing These two ..  Beautiful frozen moments ..
